Great deal on airline ticket from Delta

My hubby just bought my airline ticket on Delta this morning. $199 round trip. We live in the Dallas area but if you have Delta at your airport you might want to check it out.

Seriously? I've been stalking the Delta site for WEEKS and the lowest price I've seen is $350. I'm going to see about flying out of Lansing with Kelly. :)

He checks Orbit every morning and when he saw the price he went over to the Delta site to confirm it was true. So, if the price is back up just keep checking.

I was just researching this (for another trip) this morning. Seems that the pros say airfares go up on the weekends and are their lowest price on Mondays and Tuesdays. Then gradually increase and by the next weekend they are high again. I've been watching that trend and it has held true for the search I'm doing. Might want to wait until Monday or Tues to book.

Turned out Delta is doing a 100% bonus offer on miles transfers now through the 16th. Neither my husband nor I had enough miles to book the trip, but with this deal we were able to transfer 7,000 miles (and actually GET 14,000) for $100, which gave me enough to travel for (nearly) free. Total price for the flight = $107.50 :)

Ooo! Good deal! Today is Monday and the rates are still high for my trip to Orlando. We'll see if they drop a lot tomorrow. Last time it went from $368 to $223 departing from Columbia. From Charlotte is much less, but a 1.5 hr. drive.

Delta? OMG. OK, China Air is lower down the list on my list of acceptable airlines, however. Let's see, there were the sdandwiches on a flight in the late 1970s that put me off ever flying them again. Then, in 2009, flying to Raleigh, Rieko booked me on a Delta flight from NY to Raleigh (without my knowledge). I was not happy when I looked at my ticket, and Delta did not disappoint me - making me wait an extra 2 hours in La Guardia.

Hope you all have better luck than I've ever had with them. Of course, I may just be spoiled from the likes of JAL, Singapore Airlines, Qatar Airlines, and all the others who treat us in such style.

Well I looked and looked for a JAL flight out of Grand Rapids, Michigan, but seems they just don't fly here. :D Guess I'll have to settle for the cattle cars (and matching service) Delta and the like provide. LOL!

I just got my tickets yesterday with Delta. It was $219 including taxes - direct flight from Denver. Yay!
