I know that in the past, it was helpful for SEO and Link Building to be listed in web directories like DMOZ, Best of the Web, Yahoo Directory, etc. Do you know if there is still a benefit that justifies the cost?

I have noticed that some directories like BOTW and Yahoo charge $300 per year to have a site listed, which seems pretty steep. What are your thoughts? What works for you?

Thanks a bunch!

The business (plan) is coming along nicely. I hope to launch soon. Although my wife and I will be the primary content providers, there are some areas of the website I hope to engage other subject matter experts. These will not be "guest contributors," but people with whom I hope to have a long-lasting business relationship with.

What is the best way to keep them involved and wanting to write quality content?

A link to their website (if they have one)

Allow them to place their own affiliate links in their articles

Share commissions generated from their articles (how to track)

Pay a per-article fee

Pay a "retainer" with the requirement of a minimum number of articles per month

Other

I hope to supplement most articles (for all contributors) with a video demonstration, which I will either produce myself, or outsource under my direction. Would it affect the compensation structure if their original content is supplemented with my produced videos?
