I owned my own corporate catering company for over ten years. One of the things that set us apart from our competitors was the fact that I baked everything from scratch using family recipes. I did not use preservatives and got up at 2:00am to bake everything fresh everyday. The other unusual thing about my business was that I worked from home.
I have a licensed commercial kitchen in my home. It was a wonderful setup. Now I teach others how to do the same thing. It is getting a lot easier now though, because many states are passing Cottage Food Laws allowing non hazardous foods to be baked in a home kitchen. Those laws are making baking for money a viable possibility for many to work from home doing something they love.
One of the challenges they face is getting the word out about their business. I think all the marketing information available through NAMS would be a huge benefit. You can learn more about Cottage Laws on my site http://www.doughraisingmom.com

I always get tickled when I see someone promoting me.
