Domain Will Not Show Up In Search Engines

Whenever I type my domain name in the search engines my wordpress blog will not show up.
Can some one point me in the right location ?

Hi, William, we need a bit more info. First of all, I would make sure you don't have the "hide from search engines" checked. You find that under "Settings/Privacy". (There are also some plugins that Many people keep it from the search engines until they've gotten their site to a state they like, then forget they set that.)

Also, how long has your blog been up? It can sometimes take Google a few days to find a new site.

Other than that, what's the url? Looking at the site might help us help you.

Also add this site to Webmaster Tools which is a free Google tool. Once you add the site, you will be asked to verify that you are the owner. There are several ways to do that and they will give you instructions. I usually verify my sites by connecting Webmaster Tools to the site in Google Analytics.

Also-ran "Bing" also has a similar website verification tool: http://www.bing.com/toolbox/webmaster/

Every little bit helps...even their measly 9% market share in the search engine world (As opposed to Google's 80%). I imagine other search engines have a similar tool. Couldn't find Yahoo's.

Thanks Geoff. I posted two articles last night and this morning (6/5/12) my blog site appeared - when I entered
the domain in google....Have a great day.

On top of all the great advice above, what you need to do is simply continue to add unique content about the topic of your blog and Google and the other search engines will love you!

In the beginning, the search engines won't pay too much attention to your blog - but as you keep adding unique and valuable content to your site, then google and the others will start paying attention to you.
