Default My niche is Running - And I need some advice!

    Hi,

My niche is running - I've been doing it for over 30 years! Currently I am saying that "I want to help runners begin a running program and help them to stay runners for life". I want to help beginning runners and also runners that have been running for awhile and want to keep on running. Should I narrow my focus to only beginners? Helping them to their first races, nutrition, etc.? However, this is also information that mature runners may be able to use, also.

    Any input is welcome!

    Thanks!
    Judy

I think you should start with beginners. I'm not a runner but I'm guessing that beginners would be more likely to be in search of a program than experienced runners. Also beginners tend to go all out equipping themselves with shoes, clothing, gadgets, training, etc. which would help with monetizing the site. Even if you optimize for beginner type keywords, you are likely to get more advanced runners coming over. If so, you could create some content for advanced folks and then segment them on the home page through images or text.

Yep, I would start with a strong basics course and build a few products that address different targetted issues that newcomers deal with and then build up from there.

Eventually your market will ASK for something more advanced and you'll know it's time.

Welcome Judy! Glad to have you here.

I bought a domain a few years ago beginner runner but haven't done anything with it. At the time, I was training to run the Reggae Marathon half in Jamaica but had some breathing issues so hubby and I walked the entire thing in 2010.

    Happy National Running Day today

Thanks Judy! I think next time we'll do the 10k and also volunteer if we can.
