Cool In transition ... from past life to new times

Hi everyone ... Des here from South Australia.

It's taken me a few weeks to get net access to post this intro, so I'm happy that I'm now doing it. You see, I'm taking time out (my "gap year") and travelling with my wife around Western Australia, and then back to base for a month before taking off again.
I joined NAMS on the advice of Dr Mani, a top guy with great ideas and words. And I decided to do it because of where I am with my online biz, although because of my limited net access during travels I thought I'd just try NAMS for a short time.

My "transition" vision involves taking my offline biz online (I'm a self-employed environmental/civil engineer with a passion for sustainable living); but that's taken a backseat at this stage. My current project is to help people who have fallen on tough times (I've seen it many times) particularly in the past few years, and to present opportunities and methods for these people to use their creative selves to earn an online income. I'm calling on my management background here.

And so, I've written 3 ebooks ( a sort of trilogy) - Map Your Goals Guide, Home Business In New Times, and Write To Prosper. The unfortunate aspect is that I've yet to put them online because of the travel thing I'm caught up in. In August back at base all this will change. But I've been looking at Tradebit, JVZoo, and Clickbank. I'm yet to finalise my systems for handling all aspects of list building, sales, follow-up etc.

I hope the info at NAMS can assist me, but for the next 6 weeks any progress will be punctuated with travel and no net access.
BTW, I've been building a website NewTimesHomeBiz.com using Sandvox 2 (a Mac app), and have added a lot of content and created an AR series. But I'm not sure if I shouldn't be using Wordpress or perhaps XSitePro (which is a Windows app and would need to be run in virtual on my Mac. The advantage of Sandvox and XSP is that I can continue to work offline on my site. The limitations with Sandvox are the few options for ecommerce and membership platforms.

Any comments from members about any of these issues, particularly if I should head straight to WP, would be greatly appreciated.

    The best to all

    Welcome Des!
Totally enjoy your "time off" from the net to rejuvenate and reflect. Here are my 2 cents worth:

    1. I'm a big WordPress fan for the flexibility and short learning curve. The SEO benefit particularly with a good SEO plugin is also a plus. You can use your Sandvox software to map out the site while you are traveling and then use some of the code to set up WP pages.

    2. The tough thing about targeting people who have fallen on tough times is that they have very little disposable income to purchase ebooks and courses. How about targeting early retirees who want to transition from offline employment to an online second career? Or how about younger people who are employed but want to plan for entrepreneurship? If you are going to promote your books on places like the Warrior Forum, JVZoo seems to be a popular platform to use.

    3. When you do get back to civilization, I encourage you to look through the replays of the Wednesday Weekly Training which are available to MyNAMS members. I did one last night about taking the material you already have and converting it to a complete digital coaching program that might be of interest to you. This might be a great way for you to take your offline biz online.

Thanks so much Christine for your comments; much valued indeed. I'm back in "civilization" for a week or so (enforced because of vehicle repairs) so I'll head on over to the Wednesday Weekly Training and see what I can glean from the material.
Also I have been thinking of broadening my audience, and your comments about targeting those seeking a second career or striving for entrepreneurship has given me an additional boost. Thank you.

PS I might have to get those ebooks online very soon to pay for the vehicle repair!!

    All the best
