Red face I am in the self help mind and body healing niche :)

    Hello Everyone,

I am interested in Self Help area such as self hypnosis, brain entrainment, emotional, spiritual, energy healing.
Are these all different niches, or could all of these be promoted together on one site or blog under self help
niche...How do I find out if any or all of these are hot niches that people are looking for...

    Thank you all

Hello KyG and welcome to the forum! You might want to watch the replay of Kevin Riley's training on this topic.

He discusses how to determine if a niche could be profitable and how he evaluates a topic. You might also look at the niche from the perspective of the problems that these techniques solve rather than the techniques themselves. For example using self hypnosis to quit smoking or lose weight. I would probably start with something that I could write about every week for a year -- in other words, something that you can really sink your teeth into.

BTW -- I would encourage you to change your username here to your real name. If you want to do that, please submit a support ticket and the team will change it for you.

    KyG...

I have been in the same niche for some time now. Go visit The Ongoing Mind and you will see that...

What you will be looking at however, is a very good example of what NOT to do - going broad can be a fatal business mistake...!

I just removed the opt-in box yesterday, as come October, which is when my hosting period expires, my current intention is to take the site down. The most visited posts have already had all of the affiliate links removed, and the same for out-of-date posts.

The site had 300-500 uniques every month, with 85% always new traffic. Visitors who do stay, stay about 5 minutes each visit - and there are only a handful of subscribers, with 4% opening the email series which consisted of 24 inspirational/motivational emails 3 days apart, mostly of mini-PDFs and a 6-part "7-Habits" / Stephen Covey adaptation. Because of the low open rate, I abruptly end the series on the 24th send...

So the advice from someone who has tried and failed is "do not follow the path I did"! Use The Ongoing Mind as an example of how not to blog...!

Please note... The instructors at MyNams had nothing to do with The Ongoing Mind... It was well established before I came to MyNams as a 2nd effort at Internet Marketing. I am a newcomer at MyNams...

    Hi Aden,
Thank you for your help... I went to the site and I get it that you had a broad niche instead of a specific niche, that did not work out very well for you....Now I am narrowing it down to a specific niche with many searches in the search engines that people, only choosing a specific niche are looking for online. Hope you find something again in a great niche. Your site is well laid out with a good design.

    Thank you
