SOS - Anyone out there know Weaver II?

Panic!!! I've lost my Home page while trying to separate my pages into two menus!! Now my URL goes to one of my under-construction pages and NOT to my Home page. That means none of my posts are viewable - all hidden away until I can get the Home page back. Any help out there please???

Sherie -- I don't use the Weaver II theme but if you don't find someone knowledgeable in that theme, PM me your WP and cPanel login details and I'll see if it is something obvious to me.

Hi Christine, I've posted everywhere for a few days and no offer to help from anywhere so far. You are awesome to take a quick look for me! Caution - this site is rough, I admit that! I am in the process of changing over from the previous owner to make it mine. I bought it a year ago and am just now find time to devote to it.

I was trying to split the pages into 2 menus (putting about, contact, disclaimer and privacy into the footer). The other pages were to stay in a menu under the header. Somehow I deleted the Home page I think, or else have it hidden somewhere.

Any suggestions are very appreciated.

Hi Sherie! Sorry you're having problems. It's a little tough to troubleshoot from this post as I'm not entirely sure what happened. If I read it right, you saying, when people go to yoursite.com they go to a page that is under construction?

Could you check under Settings >> Reading >> for the very first option is it set to Latest blog posts or static page? If Static Page, what is selected for Front page and post page?

Could the Front page have been set to display the page that is under construction?

Hey Sherie, for your site's security, you want to delete all that login info in your post and change your password. Anyone can go into your site now. I'm not going to do it of course.

BTW, take a peek at my response. You must have posted the same time as I did. From what I can see, there is a good chance the Reading settings is the issue. Take a look and let us know.

I removed your login info, but this thread could have been indexed by Google already, so I would suggest changing your password. Lynette has used Weaver II so I'm going to leave you in her hands. If you need my help, just let me know.

Looks like you are redirecting your site to /offices. Did you do that in your htaccess file?

Hi gals! Well %#!&! That was THE most idiotic thing I have ever done! My little grandbaby was sitting in my lap trying to "help." I posted without even realizing I was responding in the forum and not in a PM. When we get to NAMS8, I'll just look for the name tag that says DUMMY this year! LOL

Now for the answers...
Lynnette, it is set to Latest.

As far as redirecting to the Offices page...it wasn't intentional at all. I don't even know what an htaccess file is.

I have changed my password. If I PMd it to you (like I was supposed to do with Christine), could you take a look?

We all do it so don't beat yourself up . Yes PM me your WP and your cPanel logins. I need to investigate the redirect.

Looks like a .htaccess redirect to me, too.

Should be a simple fix, hope you get it sorted out, Sherie. It *can* be scary when you lose your WP homepage. Has happened to me quite a few times before!
