In your Profile, there's a link called Avatar. You need to load up your Profile photo to both the Profile Photo section and the Avatar section.
The Avatar is the little pic that goes along with your name when you make comments.

Dan... thanks for this as it has been bugging me that my pic does not show up...I loaded the profile pic (when I setup my profile last week), but for the life of me cannot find the 'link called avatar"... can you point me in the location in the profile where I will see it?

Kathy,
Click on Settings at the top right of the page. Then in the left sidebar under My Profile you will see "Edit Avatar" (third link down under My Profile)
Thanks Chris, the trick was finding the right area with settings, but i did. It is always so annoying when the simple things are hidden in plain view!!

Hi Dan and Chris,
I appreciate the post about how to add my photo. I went to the "Edit Profile" page but I don't see a link that is labeled "Settings" or "Avatar." I would love some help with this, please. Thanks so much! ~Leslie Cardinal

I'm sorry, I just don't see where the settings button is either. Is there a set number of posts you have to have before you can put in your picture or sig line with links?

Here's how to get to the Settings Section...

Try this link:

Once you are on the Forums page, near the top under the middle of the header, you'll see Forum Actions, then choose Edit Profile and the Settings area should show up on the left side of your page.
Nice little screencast, Bob. Shows it all, step by step.

Just testing to see if my avatar shows up when I post

I noticed you are now a "Prolific" Contributor. (...as evidenced by the little one in your Avatar?)
The screencast is a great tutorial. Didn't intend to under-cut Bob's efforts.
People really should spend some time checking out each section under their profile settings. Lots of customization can be done there.

Be sure to add your picture to your profile - that's just another great way to keep these interactions personal and fun! Read earlier in this thread for info on how and where to do that.

I can find the settings page and all that but the option "Do Not Use"avatar is checked and won't uncheck. Ideas anyone?

Pam -- I think David is having technical problems with the forum software that is being worked out. Everyone's avatar is missing at the moment. Stay tuned. It will be back soon.
