Default Comment and Email Spam - Do you laugh or scream?

For a very long time, I used to get upset when I'd received email spam. I kept thinking, How did they get my email? Why are they sending me this stuff? Did they sell my email to a spam list?

Since getting upset is a waste of time and burns unnecessary energy, I decided to look for the humor in it. Some of the subject lines these people come up with are hilarious. I mean, do they actually pay people in a foreign country to write these "catchy" phrases or what?

For over a year now, my good friend MaryJo Wagner and I send a Skype message to each other every morning for the funniest spam subject we get. We laugh and carry on for a good 5 minutes. Believe it or not, spam starts my day with a chuckle.

Now, the comment spammers are getting more creative... For example, just today I got two comments on my blog and they didn't even make it in my "Spam" folder. Instead they got put under "Pending."

    1) Author: Get Rid of Wrinkles. Comment: There was a power outage at a department store yesterday. Twenty people were trapped on the escalators.

    2) Author: Wrinkle Cream. Comment: If a word in the dictionary were misspelled, how would we know?

Honestly, where do they come up with this stuff? Good thing I moderate my comments! How about you?

It's always better to laugh than cry

What I think is hilarious are the Russian spammers who write lines and lines of gobblety-gook and then end it with a smiley face. Really?

Ah, the infamous blue pill. Love your job offer but think I'll not take you up on it. Sounds like you're looking for a guy and probably somebody a lot younger than I am!

Wonder how many of this particular spam I get every day. I can't count that high!
