Default How to put a retweet/tweetthis button in a PDF?

I was listening to a presentation the other day (not-NAMS) and the expert was doing free viral PDFs, which is something I'm really loving as a way to spread the word for my cross stitch site, and he mentioned that when it's free and doesn't require an opt-in that he includes a Twitter share button in the PDF. I thought that was a great idea since those sorts of things tend to get passed around by email or are uploaded to Scribd, etc...

Is there a fancy way to do that so that it includes a prefilled tweet field with description and link (something like RT @CraftStitching Awesome Free Cross Stitch Pattern http://someurl.com)

Thanks for any help or tips on this

Sounds like an awesome idea. Here's a pretty good tutorial. Going to try this this week.

Awesome idea. I'm bookmarking the tutorial so I'll have it for the next pdf report I create.

Thank you for finding that tutorial, Susanne! It was Michael that I was listening to in the presentation, I didn't even think to look on his site (*headdesk*) I didn't realize he had a tutorial for it, I wish he had mentioned that part. I'm going to edit a few of my PDFs later this week to include a tweet button and see what happens

I did this in a short report I created a couple of years ago. I used the blue bird image we associate with Twitter, and then I added the tweet to that. I can't remember exactly how I did this, but it was very effective.
Thanks for this tutorial, Susanne. I'll look at it later today to see if that's what I did.
Great question, Loretta! Thanks for bringing it up.

That was a fantastic tip! Can't believe I didn't think of it before now. The tutorial says you need Acrobat Pro to hyperlink the retweet graphic but now you can do it within Word if you have version 2007 or 2010. You might be able to do it in Open Office now too but I'm not sure.

Hey guys, I'm in the middle of finishing a step by step PDF that details how to do this on Mac or PC without Acrobat Pro.

    Trying to hustle.

I'm not sure why he says you "need" Acrobat Pro to link the graphic and make a PDF file. I did this last night with a document I made in Word and it worked fine.

Ok, what took me a while was adding a little pizazz to the PDF but the final step by step report is ready.

How to add social icons to your PDFs

It shows you exactly how to do it, even if you don't have Acrobat Pro or even Word.

    Instructions for Mac and PC.

Let me know what you think, and show the love by spreading the word.

I've got that posted on my blog: How to create a retweet this link

You can also use the rebranding software and tags to have the RT be the twitter ID of the branded affiliate.

The same type of link can be made for sharing on Facebook as well. Just notice how any social media sharing button creates a hyper link, and base your link on the same format. Right click on a share button, copy link location, and dissect away
